New King Long City Buses in New Bus System in Malta

On 2 July 2011, the launching ceremony of new generation of city bus system was held in Valletta, Malta and Arriva Group, EU transport operator grandly introduce new bus fleet with King Long city buses as the main force. Minister of Malta Transport and Communications Ministry attended the ceremony.

It is known that the contract amount of this bus project exceed 15 million Euro and it is the biggest order for King Long Bus in EU market since 2005, also the biggest exporting of China buses in this market. 174 new buses include 9-meter and 12-meter ones, equipped with world leading Italy smart auto positioning system, real-time stops info display and the special devices available for the disabled, outstanding in good environment protection, energy conservation and compliance with Euro V emission standard.

As the largest-scale of reformation of the city bus system in Malta, new system is made up of King Long buses (66% of the total) and others. The launching of new system will bring big change on the public transport service and contribute to less emission of pernicious gases in this country.
