China 6 emission standard is one of the most stringent emission standards in the world. On December 10, 2018, King Long Longwin II successfully passed China 6-b vehicle type certification test, becoming the first bus passing the certification at home.

China 6 emission standard integrates the advancement of European Standard and American Standard, and puts forward stricter requirements according to the actual situation of China. Different from the previous certification for engine only, China 6 emission standard requires a joint certification of vehicle and engine. In addition to the load road cycle emission test for real vehicle, the fuel consumption and emission shall be measured simultaneously for compliance with the standard at the same time. The vehicle is both economical and environmentally friendly. Compared with China 6-a standard, China 6-b standard is more stringent. It is known as the “most stringent” emission control standard in history. China 6-b standard requires a limit for particle number (PN) in terms of technical requirements for portable emission measurement system (PEMS) of vehicle, extends the vehicle load from 50-100% in China 6-a standard to 10-100% and elevates the required altitude from 1,700m in China 6-a standard to 2,400m. Furthermore, China 6-b standard additionally states the demand for transmission of vehicle terminal data under remote emission management.
