King Long Range-Extended Electric City Bus Wins "Best Model" Award

On July 17th, the 3rd China Energy-saving and New-energy City Bus Innovation Competition was held in Hangzhou City. 12 domestic bus manufacturers attended the competition with 16 new-energy buses. Finally, King Long new-designed rang-extended electric city bus XMQ6127GHEV7 won "Best Model" and "Technology Innovation" awards and King Long pure-electric XMQ6127AGBEV5 won "Excellent Model" and "Technology Innovation" awards, as well. The four prizes proved King Long's leading capacity in R&D of new-energy buses.

On July 9th, "Energy-saving and New-energy Auto Industry Development Plan (2012-2020)" was released by the State Council, which pointed out the way of new-energy auto industry development.
The organization committee said the 16 new-energy city buses were divided into three types, hybrid, pure-electric and range-extended. Compared by local 12-meter manual diesel city bus as the benchmark, these city buses competed with each other on handling and more importantly, oil consumption and power consumption.

King Long XMQ6127GHEV7 was well recognized by the participants. According to the data, in the 120km journey, the bus cost 30kwh for 30km with average 1kwh in pure-electric mode, while in hybrid mode, the bus cost 44.7kwh and 9L of oil for the rest 90km with 21.63L/100km. For other city buses, average power consumption of pure-electric city buses was 1.46kwh and average oil consumption of hybrid city buses was 30.52L/100km
King Long technical engineer Xiang, Bin told the reporter that XMQ6127GHEV7, as the new-designed electric city bus, won the "Best Model" award at the debut of the competition, which showed King Long's strong technical strength on R&D of new-energy buses.
